What is KiBO?
What’s Unique About KiBO?
“A Country’s Greatest Asset is its Youth”
Motivated and skilled youth will build vibrant communities.

KiBO programs provide youth with the skills they need to improve their lives and the lives of others. Today, KiBO focuses on education and community service to motivate and train Ugandan youth. Our Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) & Leadership Program is the foundation of this effort. We intend to replicate the KiBO model throughout East Africa.
“Africa’s youth can build a better world for themselves and their communities through education, leadership and community service.”
Abraham Temu, Co-Managing Director
KiBO is:
Developing future business and community leaders
Bridging the gap between school and the workplace
Nurturing a do-it-yourself, entrepreneurial mindset in our students
A Momentum Model for Development
KiBO is about encouraging youth to take action. We’re engaging youth – training and offering community opportunities to apply their education and leadership skills. KiBO is about building momentum from the ground up so our students embrace this change and move it forward – because it is Africa’s youth who will drive positive change.
KiBO intends to be fully self-sustaining and directed by members of the community in which it operates. We intend to replicate the KiBO model to build more vibrant communities everywhere.
“It is the community members themselves who have the greatest ability to change things for the better. We try to provide them with skills to achieve their goals.”
Judith Butagira, Co-Managing Director
KiBO programs are local, self-sustaining, and replicable in other African communities.
